Endangered Yellow Pimpernel

Recently I visited “The Garden in the Woods” outside of Boston. It is an amazing place to visit as botanical gardens go…because this one is special, it’s nestled in the woods.

A one mile path takes you to a lily pond with frogs, turtles and lotus flowers, then along side a babbling brook, then to the New England endangered plant species garden.

The Pimpernel is one of these species. Typically they are found growing throughout Britain and Ireland but are now endangered in NE / Connecticut.

I felt it was a gift to see one growing in person along with a Purple Milkweed and Jacob’s Ladder.

An amazing visit to an amazing place. I even left with a few new plants for my garden!
